Apostles for Life News

October 2007

Apostles for Life is a Catholic lay initiative to inspire and support pro-life prayer, education and action in conformity with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. We publish bi-monthly and distribute free to anyone who works and prays that the Gospel of Life will flourish. We have a wide range of information on many pro-life topics and want to share with whoever is open to hear the pro-life message. Donations are welcome.

A mother holds her children's hands

for a while, their hearts forever.

Dear Friends,

I am writing this in the week before moving to our new home. How nice it will be to finally arrive at our destination! When we moved into our first home in Lismore, I told myself ‘I am going to die here’, but I know how to make God laugh, don’t I! I won’t say it again. Who knows what Scone has in store for us? Your prayers are appreciated.

Following on last issue’s topic, I am enclosing for our mail readers a copy of Abortion and Breast Cancer: the Link that won’t Go Away from the US Bishops’ Conference. I found it at http://www.usccb.org/prolife/programs/rlp/Lanfranchipamphlet.pdf  My American friend, Nancy, has kindly sent me 100 copies. Thank you, Nancy! For e-readers, I would be happy to post a copy to you.

Last issue I wrote, “Please note that the Lismore PO Box is still good for the moment.” This no longer applies. Due to crossed wires, the box has been closed down and the cost of redirection or reopening the box is prohibitive in the circumstances. The box was cleared for the last time during the week up to 14th September. Sincere apologies to anybody who may have been inconvenienced!

In past issues we have touched on the subject of vaccination as a pro-life issue, see March 2003 for Immunisation as a Pro-Life Issue http://www.apostlesforlifesite.org/2003_03_archives.htm  and October 2005 Vatican says “Parents must oppose vaccines from human foetal remains.” http://www.apostlesforlifesite.org/2005_10_newsletters.htm

This issue we get a picture of how vaccines can be abused for anti-life purposes. In the case of HPV vaccine, the program itself takes promiscuity for granted, even encouraging promiscuity by a false sense of “security”. Remember – everybody has the right to refuse any medical treatment.

May God bless you and your loved ones,

Angela

P.S. Now it is October and we have moved into our new home two weeks ago. I must say that our impressions of the small town of Scone has been positive. The people are very friendly: children look at you and wave; adults smile and sometimes stop to talk – so far so good.

WHO’s for a game of Russian Roulette?

In the early 1990s, the World Health Organization (WHO) were overseeing vaccination campaigns against tetanus in Nicaragua, Mexico, and the Philippines. In 1994, Human Life International were alerted by its Mexican affiliate; suspicious that only women between 15 and 45 were vaccinated against tetanus (aren't men as likely to come into contact with tetanus?) they obtained several vials of the vaccine and had them analyzed. Some were found to be contaminated with human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG), a naturally occurring hormone essential for maintaining a pregnancy.

In nature the hCG hormone alerts the pregnant woman's body and causes the release of other hormones to prepare the uterine lining for the implantation of the fertilized egg. However, when introduced into the body coupled with a tetanus toxoid carrier, antibodies will be formed not only against tetanus but also against hCG. In this case the body fails to recognize hCG as a friend and will produce anti-hCG antibodies. The antibodies will attack subsequent pregnancies by killing the hCG which naturally sustains a pregnancy.

Soon reports of vaccines laced with hCG hormones began to drift in from Nicaragua, and from the Philippines, where over 3.4 million women were vaccinated. At first WHO and the Philippine Department of Health (DOH) denied the vaccine contained hCG. Then when confronted with the results of laboratory tests scoffed at the evidence as coming from "right-to-life and Catholic" sources. Four new vials of the tetanus vaccine were submitted bu DOH to St. Luke's (Lutheran) Medical Center in Manila -- and all four vials tested positive for hCG!

No longer able to deny the contamination, they then claimed the quantity of the hCG present was "insignificant". Philippine pro-life and Catholic groups tested the blood of women vaccinated with the tetanus toxoid vaccine for hCG antibodies and found that 26 out of the 30 women tested had high levels of anti-hCG after tetanus toxoid vaccine. The WHO and the DOH had no answers. There is no known way for the vaccinated women to have hCG antibodies in their blood unless hCG had been artificially introduced into their bodies!

WHO has been actively involved for over 20 years in the development of an anti-fertility vaccine utilizing hCG tied to tetanus toxoid as a carrier. Allied with the WHO in the development of an anti-fertility vaccine (AFV) using hCG with tetanus and other carriers have been UNFPA, the UN Development Program (UNDP), the World Bank, the Population Council, the Rockefeller Foundation. http://www.thinktwice.com/birthcon.htm

Have you heard of GAVI?

An acronym for Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation. Their website www.gavialliance.org/ tells us:

The Alliance is an unincorporated public-private partnership launched in 2000 with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and WHO as founding partners. Partners include UNICEF, the World Bank, developing country and donor country governments, the vaccine industry, civil society groups, and research and technical health institutes. The Secretariat, based in Geneva, is hosted by UNICEF.

Guided by the belief that every life has equal value, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation works to reduce inequities and improve lives around the world. Its global health mission is to ensure that lifesaving advances in health are created and shared with those who need them most. Since 2000, immunisation programmes funded by the GAVI Alliance have saved an estimated 2.3 million lives in developing countries. GAVI – in cooperation with WHO – also maintains close links with the industry’s R&D community to ensure a productive two-way flow of information between the product developers and user communities…. More than 40 countries now have multi-year immunisation plans.

WHO is a key player in global immunisation through its network of nearly 450 immunisation professionals present in headquarters, 6 regional offices and 67 countries. WHO’s Department of Immunisation, Vaccines and Biologicals is charged with ensuring that all people at risk are protected against vaccine-preventable diseases. The Department’s work covers a range of activities including standard-setting, research and development, vaccine regulation and quality, vaccine supply and immunisation financing, and immunisation system strengthening….the GAVI Alliance depends on WHO's guidance on technical issues. WHO, along with UNICEF, plays a key role in supporting countries in their application for GAVI funds, and subsequent implementation and monitoring of GAVI-related immunisation activities.

So here we have basically the same group of people who were involved in massive campaigns to sterilize women in Mexico and the Philippines now working to get vaccines to poor children whom they would have preferred were never born. Would you be reassured to know that you or your children are getting vaccines researched, developed, regulated and quality-controlled by WHO?

Dear Angela,

I just came upon your beautiful website, and just thought I'd send the link to ours, though we are indeed in our darkest hour, and apart from a legal and funding miracle, may not be around much longer. It is a huge undertaking which is more profound than most folks have grasped.

http://www.lifeprinciplestrust.org/overview.html In the event our cause may cross your mind while in prayer, kindly include us in your intentions. Also, on the website there is a short 12 minute Prayer Novena which will automatically play on Windows Media Player. Here's the link to the Novena http://www.lifeprinciplestrust.org/novena.wma

Warmest regards, Forest Grauel, Maryland, USA

(editor: The work of Life Principles Trust is Mother’s House is a crisis pregnancy and post-birth safe house and Rachel’s Field, a permanent, historic, open acknowledgement of the dignity, personhood, and intrinsic worth of each pre-born child lost to the horrors of abortion…. a cemetery-like memorial park for the unborn … where those left wounded by abortion may dedicate a plot and erect a permanent monument to healing and restoration.)

Some of you may remember that last World Youth Day in Cologne, a high-ranking U.N. pro-abortion bureaucrat, Eveline Herfkens, head of the UN Millennium Campaign, was billed to address the opening ceremony. When pro-lifers got wind of this there was a campaign to oust her from the program. See Pro-abortion speaker at WYD opening ceremony

This WYD2008 in Sydney, the problem is one of omission rather than commission. But action is still needed. The following article by Randy Engel has already provoked some negative feedback when I forwarded it by email.

U.S. Coalition for Life News Release

Abortion & Euthanasia Absent From Social Justice Agenda of Catholic WYD

Export (Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania, September 12, 2007 - New concerns about the Social Justice and Ecology Agenda of the Catholic Church’s international World Youth Day/2008 in Sydney, Australia, from July 15-20, 2008, were raised today by long-time pro-life activist and Catholic writer Randy Engel, Executive Director of the U.S. Coalition for Life. (1)

According to Engel, “World Youth Day, which has already achieved a reputation as a ‘Catholic Woodstock,’ now appears to have been hijacked by ‘politically-correct’ pundits with a human rights agenda that excludes the most basic God-given right – the right to life, and an ‘environmental strategy’ that employs the anti-life rhetoric of ‘sustainability.’”

Engel quotes from the 2004 “Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church” which states, “The first right presented in this list is the right to life, from conception to its natural end,[318] which is the condition for the exercise of all other rights and, in particular, implies the illicitness of every form of procured abortion and of euthanasia.[319]” (2)

“But where on the WYD Social Justice agenda that includes topics related to ecology and ‘eco-justice,’ world peace and disarmament, world hunger, immigration, health care for the poor, Third World debt, and justice for indigenous populations, do we find the fundamental right-to-life issue of abortion and euthanasia?” asks Engel. “No where,” Engel says. (3)

Noting the prominence given by WYD organizers to environmental issues, Engel says “it would be well for Church organizers to remind Catholic youth that man’s first environment is the womb, and therefore we need to protect children in the womb not only from mechanical suction machines and steel curettes, but also from abortifacient intrauterine devices and deadly hormonal pollutants that turn the mother’s womb into a tomb for the tiniest of human beings, the human embryo, so that his first environment is his last.”

Billed in one WYD promotional piece as “the world’s largest party,” Engel said that “because of abortion, there are millions of unborn children the world over who will never have the opportunity to be baptized or attend their first birthday party much less a WYD event.”

“Sydney has numerous human slaughter houses,” Engel notes. “If each aboratorium received a daily “visit” during WYD by thousands of Catholic youth saying the rosary on their knees and led by Cardinal George Pell of Sydney, Chairman of World Youth Day Organizing Committee, or one of the more than 300 bishops expected to attend WYD, many lives could be saved and a wonderful example set for Catholics of all ages around the world,” says Engel.

Engel notes that there have been many other legitimate criticisms of World Youth Day events including the up-coming WYD/2008 including acts of sacrilege involving the Sacred Host at WYD Masses; the heavy rock music and Woodstock atmosphere that dominates much of the WYD scene; the mixing of young teens with Catholic and non-Catholic “youth” as old as 35 in an largely open-air unsupervised setting; immodest dress; and more recently, the hiring of Guy Sebastian a non-Catholic, pro-homosexual rock idol to co-write and sing the WYD 2008 charismatic anthem “Receive the Power.”

Engel also notes that the promotion by Australian Church WYD organizers of the Christian Brothers and Marist Brothers - two of the Australia’s most infamous religious orders connected to dozens of clerical sexual abuse cases involving children and adolescents – needs to be addressed immediately along with the abortion and euthanasia issues. (4)

“World Youth Day is an official event of the Catholic Church,” says Engel. “It’s about time WYD officials clean up their act, and make WYD truly Catholic in word and deed. If this cannot be done, then the Pope should discontinue World Youth Day forthwith and promote instead family and youth pilgrimages to traditional Catholic shrines, most especially those dedicated to Our Lady at Fatima, Lourdes, La Salette, Guadalupe, and Chartres,” she concludes.

HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) Vaccine

Making Schools into Research Labs, Schoolgirls into Guinea Pigs

Ovarian cancer in Australia: an overview, 2006 states:

The age-standardised incidence rate of ovarian cancer has remained stable at 12–13 new cases per 100,000 population from 1983 to 2002. The greatest increase in incidence from 1992 to 2002 occurred in women aged 80 years and over http://www.aihw.gov.au/publications/can/oca06/oca06.pdf

Breast cancer in Australia: an overview, 2006 states:

“The age-standardised incidence of breast cancer in females has increased from 80 per 100,000 population in 1983 to 117 per 100,000 in 2002. http://www.aihw.gov.au/publications/can/bca06/bca06.pdf

If we compare the above two sets of statistics of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, the breast cancer incidence is between 9 and 10 times the rate of ovarian cancer. Not only that but ovarian cancer rates are stable and inclined towards the over-80’s, while breast cancer rates are rising especially among young women. How then to understand the priorities of our Health Dept who is pushing the new vaccine Gardasil? Should not their priority be to concentrate on the preventable breast cancer by warning young women of how they can lessen the chances of breast cancer? There seems to be more here than meets the eye.

Since there is no epidemic of cervical cancer to warrant urgent action, why the rush and substantial spending ($537 million over 5 years) on this “health” program? (Gardasil is the most expensive childhood vaccine proposed for mass use) Why do Catholic schools like Lismore’s Trinity and St John’s Colleges so readily submit to the government’s program to vaccinate young girls? Even if the vaccine is safe and effective (which is untested and unproven) the program is a gross insult to young innocent girls. After all Gardasil is really a vaccine against certain strains of HPV, a sexually transmitted disease, and its effectiveness in preventing cancer is also unproven. And don’t boys get HPV?

Now one of the ingredients of Gardasil, polysorbate 80, can cause severe anaphylactoid reactions, is a known carcinogen and has been shown to have estrogenic alterative effects and other abnormalities of the reproductive systems, including infertility, in rats. See here.

We don't know the effects of Gardasil on the developing bodies of young girls. The statistics being reported to the Vaccine Adverse Effect Response System are already troubling. According to Diane M. Harper, a lead researcher in the development of the HPV vaccine, giving the drug to young girls "is a great big public health experiment."
